BIOCOM Institute Initiatives

BIOCOM focuses on creating and supporting initiatives that positively influence the growth of the life sciences industry in the areas of: public policy, scientific discovery, workforce development, and advocacy for math and science education.

BIOCOM's mission is to position the Greater San Diego life science community to achieve individual and collective success on the world stage of scientific and technological innovation, as well as in the development of products that improve global health and quality of life.  To realize this mission, BIOCOM has established long-term strategic goals and a supportive committee structure to accomplish these goals.

Committees

BIOCOM's Workforce and Capabilities Committee is responsible to develop and implement an aggressive workforce development agenda that fuels growth of life sciences industry in the region. BIOCOM partners with with local/state agencies, member companies and learning institutions to achieve these goals. Reporting to this Board-level committee are three subcommittees: Education, Scholarship, and Human Resources.
